Kundaim (Goa): With the divine blessings and inspiration of the Peethadhishwar of Shree Datta Padmanabh Peeth, Padmashri H.H. Shree Brahmeshanandacharya Swami Maharaj, India’s 80th Independence Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervor on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at Shree Kshetra Tapobhoomi, Kundaim, Goa.
This grand ceremony was jointly organized by Swami Brahmanand Mahavidyalaya, International Sadguru Gurukulam, Sadguru Dnyanpeetham, and Swami Brahmanand Vedic Gurukul and Research Institute.
Gracing this patriotic event as Chief Guests were Mr. Rajeev Nair, Director of ‘Sapscon Engineering’, Marcaim, and Mr. Hari Bagalkar, Head of the Environment and Health Department at ‘Medispray Pharmaceutical Company’, Kundaim. Also present on the dais were Dr. Dnyaneshwar Patil, Principal of Swami Brahmanand Mahavidyalaya; Mrs. Indira Mishal, Headmistress of the High School; Mrs. Amita Gawas, Headmistress of the School; Acharya Vedmurti Upadhyay Mr. Anup Shelar of the Research Institute; along with educational guides of the Sampradaya, Mrs. Indira Bandodkar and Mr. Tukaram Naik.
The program commenced with a welcome address by Principal Dr. Dnyaneshwar Patil, who greeted all the dignitaries and attendees. In his introductory speech, he highlighted the historical significance of Independence Day, the sacrifices of martyrs in the freedom struggle, the necessity to preserve ancient scriptural knowledge and culture alongside modern education, and the responsibility of today’s generation towards the nation. He emphasized that creating a patriotic, industrious, well-educated, and cultured society is the divine dream of Brahmeshanandacharya Swamiji.
Following this, Chief Guests Mr. Rajeev Nair and Mr. Hari Bagalkar addressed the gathering, explaining the youth’s vital contribution to the country’s progress, the importance of discipline in nation-building, and the need for students to turn towards industry and entrepreneurship for the nation’s advancement.
Throughout the program, the enthusiasm of the students and teachers was highly commendable. The collective rendition of Vande Mataram, the Flag Song, and the National Anthem, combined with the chanting of Vedic mantras expressing the sentiment of global welfare, added to the grandeur of the event. Students from all participating educational institutions presented patriotic songs and delivered speeches in Marathi, English, Konkani, and Sanskrit.
The vote of thanks was proposed by Viraj Gaokar. This inspiring Independence Day celebration concluded with the auspicious chanting of the ‘Shanti Mantra’.
